Well, it is a sad state of affairs when most of the country wishes to do justice by " feelings" That kind of justice scars the devil out of me. 64% of the American public feel that Casey is guilty despite the jury vote. Hey, maybe we can just start holding all court in the public opinion forum. We can do a poll on all cases, and whoever and whatever gets the most votes loses or wins, depending on your view of "justice".Now, Justice, that is an interesting word, and best served by discussing another time and place. In other words, justice is when I win and you lose.
But, my real beef here is the unfair treatment of the jury members. They did their job, they made the sacrifice, and now they are in fear of their lives. Does no one understand the system? Do we really want people to be executed because we " feel" like they did it even if the prosecution did not present evidence that proved beyond reasonable doubt that they did it? The idiots who are going around threatening the jurists are not one but different than the person who killed this little girl is.
