Bars and God

Yes, Wallace certainly had a colorful past and assortment of entertainment from bars to the houses on Cedar Street, but it was not all about the carnal man. The spiritual man was not to be neglected. Wallace had several  houses of worship that still serve the soul, and spirit of those who worship there.
Here are a few that have stood the passages of time, and are architecturally  beautiful inside and out.

The Wallace Methodist Church sill stand on Pine Street in Wallace. When I was in high school, I studied piano under the tutelage of Mrs. Haugen who was the organist for this Church for many, many years. Inside was a beautiful, old pipe organ that she gave me some additional lessons on for free. This picture of the Methodist Church was take in 1923, and NO, I did not take it .(:)
Holy Trinity Episcopal Church-photo 1911. Still stands as beautiful today as it did then.

St Alphonsus Catholic Church Easter Sunday, April 20,1919-Chruch still stands as proudly as ever.

Thee have been several others over the years that have come and gone, but these three beautiful houses of worship still stand today, and are a great reminder that those who grew up Wallace had great schools, churches, and places to play, meeting the needs of the whole man.
