The fire came and ravaged the town like nothing ever had . The year was
1890, and there was little precious little left standing in Wallace. The Bank
of Wallace was located where the current Rossi Building stands. The bank was
burned to the ground in the fire, but, yes, your money was safe because the
vault survived. Not to lose a penny of business, the bank reopened in a tent
right next to the surviving vault. It took more than a little old fire to stop
the commerce of Wallace.
