The Lebron James Show

We are so desperate for entertainment and drama that we actually tuned in by the millions tonight to ESPN to listen to a huge man-child announce that he was going to play basketball next year for the Miami Heat instead of his hometown Cleveland Cavaliers.Did we really need a prime time show to hear this announcement? I think not. Did I watch it? You bet your ass I did. I admit it, and I am so ashamed to say that I did. I quit watching the NBA when the Sonics were stolen from Seattle and whisked of to OKC, of all the forgotten places.

So, why did I watch this show? I don't know.Another spoiled, multi-millionaire athlete breaks the hearts of a city. Who cares. I guess I must.

Cedar: I totally agree. I, however, do not watch much TV and thus I missed/wasn't aware of the show. Actually I find that watching TV tends to cut into the concentration I require in order to drink a whole lot of beer. Anyway, back "in the day" the situation would be handled differently. For example if some hot shot athlete from Wallace up and moved to Kellogg (egad!) the most unwise person would have received a first class thumping. If the unwise person was tougher than the first person to take him on...well there would be a long line of people waiting to take their shot. Sooner than later, and probably sooner, the thumping would have occurred.

Good point, GF, is that what happened when you coached in Kellogg? I was not living here then, but my ex-brother in law was teaching in Kellogg, he was the band director, and he told me you were coaching in Kellogg. I said, no way would a good Wallace boy ever coach in Kellogg. Just kidding with you.

Cedar: Didn't realize Peck was your ex-bro. By the time I went to KHS I was nothing near a hot shot athlete. It was odd going to WHS to coach against the Miners. KHS didn't have the school spirit that WHS did, but before I left they did. The kids were great and when they got spirit they were the best.

Yep, Peck is my sister's ex. They were not married then, but met when he was teaching in Wallace.
They divorced in the late eighties, and Peck moved to LA.He told me about you when he was selling office supplies, and lived in Spokane. I believe that you were a customer for awhile.
