Well, I have got to hand it to Blue Cross of Idaho and Express Scripts, the master of my fate. I have Blue Cross of Idaho, and because I am disabled, and Medicare eligible because I am disabled, I have a Medicare Advantage Plan though Blue Cross, including Part D prescriptions. All was well until July 1, and my pharmacy, Rite Aid calls and says that there is a problem with my insurance. The computer says I have been cancelled. Hm, first I have heard of it. I called Blue Cross immediately, and they seemed surprised, too. I have not been cancelled, but Express Scripts, which handles Part D, has a computer glitch that they are working on OK, no problem, I know all about such glitches.
Well, that was 5 days ago, and the glitch is not fixed. Apparently, it is not easy to bring me back into the system because my file is corrupted. Hm, wow, that sounds nasty. After numerous calls to Rite Aid, and Blue Cross, I am getting now where, and I am now out of some very important meds that I have to have to keep stable..When I talked to Blue Cross tonight, an agent told me that I could pay for my own prescriptions, and they would reimburse me later. My prescriptions cost over a fifteen hundred dollars a month if I had to pay them. She then "sweetly" told me that they were working on the problem, and hopefully it will be fixed soon. Wow, why can't Blue Cross just guarantee the payment to Rite Aid? Why can't Express Scripts just make a new account file for me? And, who the heck is Express Scripts, anyway? I thought my insurance was with Blue Cross. What a cluster. All that I know is that my condition worsens while they play the computer game, well, I will be calling my good buddy, GF.

Cedar: Sheez. Hope you and the computer got it all worked out. Reminds me of a short story I read in Fr. English at U of I...Yeah, I retained some info...about an intrasuperpower panic that spred when, instead of relying 110% on computers, there was a rumor that the U.S. was utilizing 'human thought' to modify the computer program.
Man, when computers get you locked out, they really lock you out. I argues with my bank one time, and they told me they could not change something because the computer would not let them. I said that someone must have the power to override the computer, and they told me no one did. Scary, scary, scary.
