Gotta Love Those Big Banks

This morning I checked my account online like I do every morning. I was shocked to see that I had considerably less in my one account than I knew that I have. I looked at the transactions from yesterday, of which there were several good sized ones, and I saw that they had been posted twice, the net result being that my account was over drawn by $1.42. I called the bank, and the banker immediately admitted that I had been charged twice because the bank had a glitch in their system, and everyone who had used a pin number the day before had been charged twice. She assured me that they were working on it, and would have it fixed soon. I said' but, of course, I can't use that account today in the store because it is overdrawn.' She said, ":yes, that is true. but it will be ok before the day is over".

Wow, so, the bank can make a big boo-boo, and well, too bad for the customer, right? But, if the customer has a "glitch" in their system, well, it is a 35.00 over draft fee. Fortunately, that is not my only or primary account, but let's say it was, and I need groceries or gas this morning?

At least you got to talk to a real person. Often anymore that doesnt' happen. Remember the good old days when we went into the bank and everybody knew your name? lol

IEG, or sure I miss those days. When we were living in Osburn taking care of the folks, it was still that way at our local branch, but after we moved to CDA, well, they actually just kind of glare at you when you walk in. Kind of miss the old Valley at times.
