Passing The Torch

The sign in front of Wallace High School caught my attention as I was driving into town on Friday afternoon-Graduation-May 25,7 PM. I smiled and silently said to the 2018 graduates," congratulations, and welcome to the real world."

Surprisingly, a wave of nostalgia cascaded over me, and a feeling of brotherhood with the young people about to receive their diplomas enveloped me. We are bonded as Wallace High brothers and sisters.

That statement may sound a little corny to some, but to those of us who have reconnected after all of these years, we understand that we are like a family, separated by miles, life paths, and experiences,
but as the years go by, the bond grows stronger, the need to reconnect intensifies.

Now, like it was so many years ago,we share our joys , and we share our tears.

After all, we are  Wallace High brothers and sisters.
