One Nation, without God, divisable and no justice at all.

The bell rang, and we all made sure that when it did we were all seated, backs straight, feet flat on the floor, and eyes straight ahead. Boot camp? Nope, first grade. You see, times were different back when I was growing up Wallace. I have wished so many times over the years that I had still practiced the perfect posture that I maintained in those years. Maybe my back would not ache so much now.

In the Spokane Chronicle on the date, October 12, 1963, there was an article that the Supreme Court had decided to visit the growing clamor for rulings on prayer and Bible reading in public schools. The writer stated that the decisions that the Court made on these matters would have a profound effect on the nation. So, what is the connection between my first two paragraphs? From fist grade through 6ht grade at Wallace Elementary School, every class morning began with the teacher reading from the Bible. To my knowledge none of us were brain damaged by this now forbidden practice, None of later in life walked into a Burger King or college classroom and opened fire with an high powered rifle or hand gun.

Profound effect on the nation? Indeed. Just see what our nation has become.
