Sounds Like A Little Bunk

We all know the story of Noah Kellogg and his famous jackass. The sign that welcomed folks to Kellogg was hysterical, if not true.

 "This is the town founded by a jackass and inhabited by his descendants."

This past week I heard an interesting story, and it turns out that the Jackass of Kellogg fame is not buried in Kellogg, although his master, Noah Kellogg is buried there. Nope, it turns out that the jackass was given to Mr. Kellogg's brother who was or became a resident of McMinville, Oregon, a nice little town that I have visited many times when I lived in Salem. The jackass lived a long, happy life in Oregon, and is buried there. I hope that he got some of the  royalties from the great Bunker Hill Mine. that legend said that he discovered.
