Great Caesar’s Ghost, It's The Great Pumpkin

I am just a big kid at heart. I eagerly look forward to certain shows that serve as the official heralding of a certain holiday, and since 1966 no show has trumpeted the news that it is Halloween more than "It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown". The Great Pumpkin ranks up there with Rudolph, Frosty, Santa, and the Easter Bunny.

It seems that the fantasy buster patrol want to put a stop to the Great Pumpkin because it gives a negative message to children. Huh? You have got to be kidding me. I do think some people eat entirely too many prunes for breakfast. These fun busters say that this Charlie Brown classic teaches bullying, and rough teasing, and that Charlie Brown is not fit for today's little innocent kids.

Please, give me a break. Of all the violence in TV , video games, and even the cartoon and Disney channels, they want to attack the Great Pumpkin? Wow, get a life people. Guess what? If you don't want your kids to watch Charlie Brown, SWITCH OFF THE TV!

Meanwhile, I will be camped in front of my television tonight at 8PM ,just like I have done every year since 1966, to see if the Great Pumpkin rises from the Pumpkin Patch tonight and brings gifts to all the good boys and girls in the world.
My grandson loves this great pumpkin!
