(remembering that I was only about 7 and me brother 9) where we handed over our pennies and had 30 minutes on a peddle boat, you know like a little paddle steamer but you turned the paddles with your hands...... sigh..... jebus, what memories have you unleashed lol

xMarmiteToastyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02536695634856882487noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7652610895088664899.post-57597979275706193962008-08-11T05:30:00.000-07:002008-08-11T05:30:00.000-07:00Do you knoe, well you wont, but anyways, that reco...Do you knoe, well you wont, but anyways, that record was the first ever record my older bruvver (2 years older then me) bought, when it came out, it was the ONLY record we had that was not one of my muvvers Shirley Bloody Bassy songs or Englebert Humpledink LOL..... it was the only one for months and months, you see, we didnt get pocket money and he had bought it from the money on the deposit beer bottles..... the bottles that ya take back and they give you a few pennies back, but we was kids so the only way we had bottles to take back was to climb over the back high wall, with broken glass on the top, of the Wheatsheaf Pub, in Botley Drive near where we use to live, and whilst usually me, cos I was small was the one shoved over the wall, putting our jumpers on the broken glass to get over, he bruvver would sit on the top of the wall and I would hand him the bottles which he would balance on the wall until we had enough to carry...... we would then take them around to the front of the pub in the office licence door and pretend they was our dads beer bottles lol.....

it took weeks and weeks of climbing that wall to get enough money for that one record....

But it was the only one we had and we played it and played it over and over on me mums old radiogram when she was not in, we couldnt play it when she was in cos she would of skinned us alive for having it.....

fanks for the memories LOL...... I should of kept up with the thieving and I might of been somewhere in life now LMFAO

XMarmiteToastyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02536695634856882487noreply@blogger.com
